We are happy to share this great report from WDR Lokalzeit on March 11, 2024, which highlights the use of various innovative therapy methods at the BG Klinikum Duisburg. The report features Florian Lobe from Haltern, who almost completely lost the functionality in his right arm and trunk as a result of a serious accident at work.

He receives CUREO® therapy in Duisburg and the TV report shows how he performs various exercises to improve the movement of his right hand. He uses CUREO® to train everyday movements such as pressing buttons or cranking. In another exercise, he trains his fine motor skills by popping small balloons that appear on his virtual fingertips, fingers and palms. The combination of modern technology, therapy and gaming motivates both younger and older patients, and you can clearly see in the video how Florian enjoys seeing and feeling the movement of his arm through in virtual reality.

Therapy with CUREO® makes Florian Lobe feel as if he is "no longer in hospital". Patients are immersed in a virtual world with bright colors and a positive atmosphere. This allows them to escape their everyday lives for a moment and work on reducing their motor and cognitive impairments at the same time. His therapist can also confirm this. She describes how nice it is for the patient to see their healthy hands in the virtual environment and to get away from the hospitalization and thoughts of their physical limitations.
Florian has ambitious goals: He wants to be able to actively use his right hand again in his everyday life and thus regain a bit of normality - with CUREO® he is on the right track.
